Learning about the consumer and how to market

Today we continued with the work we began last week in looking at the consumer and the target market.

The following points were addressed:

-Consumer decision making process
-Choice criteria
-Decision making units
-Experiential consumption

I enjoyed the activity we participated in to explain targeting a market- ‘Bens Pots’. It was really quick-fire and made us work as a group to create a concept that sold the business well but was not overcomplicated. I would like to apply this same quick decision making process to my own work and consider the above points when creating my business.

We also looked at some of last year’s work from Level 2:

SWOT analysis
Boston Matrix

I remembered the SWOT analysis, but did not remember the Boston Matrix, so it was very useful to go back over this and keep these things in mind for my own business venture.
